About MCO
ManagedCare Oncology is published by ICORE Healthcare, LLC. The quarterly journal serves as the only comprehensive, peer-reviewed source of oncology-related information for health plans.
The launch of ManagedCare Oncology was in response to extensive market research that ICORE Healthcare conducted in late 2005. The research revealed few sources of information for payors on how to improve the quality of care and the overall value of oncology and oncology-related medicines for their members and employer groups. As a result and at the request of its customers, ICORE dedicated significant resources to developing a publication to provide managed care organizations with timely oncology-related information to assist in such commercial payor endeavors.
This publication is distributed to more than 18,000 clinical and financial decision-makers at health plans /payors, specialty provider organizations, and other oncology-care specialists.
"In developing this publication, we knew that its success was dependent upon providing timely, detailed, and unbiased information," said Kjel A. Johnson, PharmD, publisher of ManagedCare Oncology. "I am committed to addressing the unmet need that managed care professionals have described to us over the years."
In addition to its objectivity, the editorial content needed to be relevant. As a result, each issue features oncology drug reviews from the MCO's perspective, new strategies for appropriate oncology reimbursement, integrating clinical trials into reimbursement strategies, improving oncology value with payor initiatives and more. This valuable content empowers managed-care decision makers to equitably and responsibly care for their member/patient population.
