Acute Myeloid Leukemia in the Managed Care Setting: Key Prognostic Factors and Treatment Considerations
The diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia is reviewed, with special consideration given to the role of key prognostic factors in determining the appropriate course of treatment. The age, cytogenetic profile, and white blood cell count of patients with AML are discussed with respect to chemotherapy and transplant options available.
