The Challenges of Managing Leukemia Medications
Fallon Community Health Plan monitors patient safety of pharmaceuticals, including new drugs for treating leukemia, by coordinating member care. A key strategy in doing so is prior authorization of certain pharmaceuticals. Its Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee reviews data on new treatments, with input from clinical research reports and national guidelines, to minimize inappropriate untilization and reduce costs.
