Improving Value 2008

Effective March 15, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) began basing its benefit coverage for Chemotherapy drugs used in the outpatient setting on the National Comprehensive Cancer Netowrk's (NCCN) Drugs and Biologics Compendium.  The implementation of this new policy will result in network oncologists only being automatically reimbursed for chemotherapy drugs used according to the indications recommended in the NCCN compendium.  Managed Care Oncology disucsses the factors driving this change in policy and its expected resulting outcomes
